They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them
ROLL OF HONOUR UNDER CONSTRUCTION
We have been privileged to see a small part of some of the battlefields in Europe - Belgium/France, Normandy, Cassino , Gallipoli and Thermopylae. At all these sites we were deeply moved at the
sacrifice that had been made - the row upon row of white crosses in France/Belgium being particularly poignant. This is a page which remembers those in my Family Tree who have served in the
Armed Services. To add a related Serviceperson, please

* SUPREME SACRIFICE

All Jackson family records i have, refer to a William James Lynds, Son of John Lynds and Emma Jackson, with comment that he died at Jericho in Queensland, Australia, from wounds received in
the Boer War. HOWEVER, can find no record of this
William James Lynds on the New Zealand Roll of Honour for the Boer War, However, there are the following references:-

"Their third child,
William James Lynds, died in Jericho, Queensland, Australia, from wounds received in the Boer War "

"No 147,  Private J
ames William LYND, [different order of forename/spelling of surname] is on the ROLL OF HONOUR  of the 4TH QUEENSLAND IMPERIAL BUSHMEN

Other family  researchers also comment that he died at Jericho, South Africa [Jericho was a British Camp about 40km north of Pretoria) from wounds received at Buffelspruit [near Pretoria] This latter
reference would be consistant with being in action and dying in South Africa
